Impeller pumps – application

These products are characterized by compact design and relatively simple operation, therefore they have many applications in both industry and construction. Individual device types are customized doforcingwater, sewage, liquid fuelschemicals. Acid-resistant pumps are also available they cope perfectly with aggressive liquids.

Impeller pumps are very often installed in industrial systems sewage systems, e.g. near factories, public facilities and in home sewage pumping station. These devices are also used for periodic work related to drying flooded residential rooms, basements and other facilities such as excavations.

Types of centrifugal pumps

Currently, the most commonly used are the so-called centrifugal pumps – with impeller placed in a spiral body. Due to the location of the device shaft, stands out here:

Example of a horizontal pump

Horizontal pumps:

  • horizontal KAN type – for pumping clean chemical liquids,
  • type KCG – for chemically aggressive liquids,
  • type KCN – for aggressive liquids, without solids.

An example of a vertical, i.e. submersible, pump

Vertical pumps:

  • KFN type – pumps with a heating jacket,
  • type KGN – for aggressive liquids, slightly contaminated,
  • mechanically,
  • type KSL, CCB – for aggressive and clean liquids.

Some liquids require more advanced equipment, while according to EU directive - pumps that are to be approved for operation in the conditions explosion hazards and products intended for the transmission of flammable and explosive substances, must have appropriate certificates. TOFAMA SA pumps meet these requirements - you will find confirmation of current research by browsing Certifications.

Impeller pumps – advantages and disadvantages

The main advantages of centrifugal pumps include: high work efficiency, by small lifting height. There is also an advantage here easy installation of the pump, because Due to its good rotational speed performance, the equipment has nsmall size and mass.

Impeller pumps are very durable – minimally moving parts are subject to abrasion, which extends the life of the equipment. Depending on the model, often it is also possible to directly connect the device to high-speed rotors drive motors, co increases work efficiency. If you want a deeper understanding of how we increase efficiency, find out how centrifugal pumps are constructed.

Impeller pumps – disadvantages and contraindications

Correct selection is necessary due to the fact that some centrifugal pumps are quite sensitive to contamination mechanical, which contribute to the wear of rotor components. Some devices they don't handle well eithergas content in the liquid – their presence may sometimes result in interruption of the flow. Fortunately, the type we produce KGN-Ex pumps solves this problem.

Centrifugal pump efficiency

This is the most important parameter of the device's operation, on which the flow speed depends and efficiency of the entire process. It usually involves the specifications of the device and engine that was used as a drive unit. Check the performance of each pump using the tabs on the left. Check out the example documentation of one of the centrifugal pumps (KKB).

Currently, units are produced with a capacity of 50, 100, 250 and even 350 liters per minute. Units with higher parameter values are most often connected to industrial sewage handlingthat require quick transport to place of storage.

Maximum suction height of a centrifugal pump

Depending on the drive unit, the devices may have different characteristics different pump suction height. So when you decide to buy it, you should: precisely select parameters, depending on working conditions. Wrong suction height may result in serious overload of the engine and its operation quick blurring. This may also cause the phenomenon of cavitation, which significantly increases it weakens the efficiency of the pump and causes its damage.

At TOFAMA SA, as one of the few manufacturers, we try to guide customers to make the right choice. Use the contact form and adjust the efficiency and suction height of the centrifugal pump to your needs.

Selection of a centrifugal pump to your needs

Which device will be best? When choosing a pump, it is worth being guided by: hardware parameters. At the beginning, it is good to establish a few issues regarding:

  • purpose of the pump – whether we are looking for a product for a new installation or to replace an existing one,
  • size and type of installation,
  • expected overall dimensions and weight of the pump unit,
  • quality of the device you are looking for

After determining these needs, it is worth checking the pump ratings by going through the tabs on the left. It is worth paying attention to in particular: efficiency, maximum suction height, i pumping energy efficiency. You can also check the range of allowable continuous operation of the pump and the flow rate in the inlet area. Deep well centrifugal pumps

Deep well centrifugal pumps, as the name suggests, are mainly used to extract water from deep groundwater intakes, but this is not their only application. Submersible pumps are widely used in many industries, agriculture and households.

The mechanism works on the principle of converting kinetic energy into pressure energy. The rotating rotor is driven by the engine's energy. The driving force is increased by increasing the rotation of the liquid in the rotor. The mechanism functions thanks to the pressure difference generated and the buoyancy force of the blades.

Modern pumps have a more automated operating system, so they are not as faulty as traditional pumps of this type. You will find such a model of submersible pumps in our offer in the tab Vertical centrifugal pumps.

Multistage centrifugal pumps

Pumps vary in terms of application and model. Multistage centrifugal pumps have two or more impellers, and this is what distinguishes them from single-stage pumps.

Let us recall that the operation of a centrifugal pump is based on the conversion of energy from mechanical to kinetic through the impeller. This type of pumps is mainly used in water installations and industrial plants, because their demand for electricity is much greater.

If you are looking for a pump for your own use, it will definitely be a better choice single-stage centrifugal pump, which you will find in our offer.

Impeller pumps – regulation

The latest models of centrifugal pumps have a built-in ability to adjust the rotational speed.

What does this actually mean - what is pump regulation?

The ability to control settings was introduced to reduce the device's demand for electricity.

Regulation allows you to reduce the amount of energy transferred to the liquid and reduce pressure. At TOFAMA SA, we use electronic speed control to automatically adjust the pump operating parameters. This is a very important aspect because incorrectly set parameters may cause the opposite effect, i.e. higher electricity consumption.

Another disadvantage that often occurs when the wrong parameters are set is the production of loud sounds, e.g. noise (the equipment simply works louder, it is not comfortable for people nearby). Ultimately, the so-called phenomenon may also appear. underheated ends. Therefore, at TOFAMA SA, We managed to solve this problem. We will also solve all your other uncertainties – Contact us.

Screw pumps

What is a screw pump?

The single-screw pump belongs to the group of rotary displacement pumps with the ability to self-suction the liquid and then pump it in a specific direction (a type of displacement pump). Thanks to this mechanism, the screw pump has found many applications - both in households and in industry. There are many products on the market based on this scheme. However, each of them differs in its purpose and technical parameters.

Screw pump – principle of operation

In order - first, the principle of operation of the screw pump: After starting the pump, the screw screw starts to rotate, and this is a rotational movement. The previously free space is filled with liquid, and the movement of the screw along the pump axis causes the liquid to be transported in a specific direction. There is no possibility of backflow of the liquid already sucked in, it will be transported until the end. This function minimizes pump failure and speeds up the operation of the device.

Construction diagram of a screw pump

The construction diagram of a screw pump is surprisingly easy considering the capabilities of this device. The pump is also called a screw pump because of the way it works. The most important elements of the pump are the steel rotor and stator. During pump operation, the rotor performs rotational and circulating movement in the stator, causing liquid to be pumped.

The pump can reliably suck in highly viscous liquids - even liquids containing rounded solids. The design of the pump allows for gentle transport of liquids, so it does not affect the physical appearance of the transported product. This is a particularly important phenomenon PSRS food pumps i PSRSP, where the natural properties of the material must be preserved.

Advantages of screw pumps

Screw pumps are distinguished primarily by them durability, are used in places where similar devices may be damaged. The pump allows for transportation liquids with a high content of abrasive materials, which is not possible with a centrifugal pump.

The screw pump allows the flow and pumping of chemical fluids without changing their physical and chemical properties. This is especially important when using the pump in industries, because the screw enables the transport of thick suspensions, mortar, Czy slurry. Thanks to their simple structure and maximum sealing, these devices are both perennial, as well as practically failure-free.

Screw pump – application

The screw pump used is extremely versatile. The device is currently mainly used in the broadly understood industry, e.g. in transport liquids with strong chemical properties, dense, or contaminated with foreign bodies. A screw pump is an essential element of food plants, where it is used to transport substances such as: fats, Czy sticky products.

The pump is also used in slaughterhouses and farms to transport feed for farm animals. Let's not forget that thanks to the screw it is possible to transport ordinary liquids such as water. This makes it possible to deliver liquids to homes, small companies and recreational facilities.

Selection of a screw pump

To choose the best type of screw pump, we need to know what purposes it will be intended for. The models differ in technical parameters and each is designed for a different type of liquid. An important aspect is also to determine from what source and how the liquid or other such substance will be obtained. The efficiency of the pump depends on the rotational speed, and you should pay attention to this parameter if you want to purchase a device with good technical parameters.

If you are not sure which pump model will be best for you because you do not know these parameters, please ask us a question via contact form (or read the entire article). We will advise you on which screw pump model will be best for you based on the description of the specific situation for which you want to use the pump. Contact details and a quick inquiry form can be found on the website in the contact tab.

Screw pumps – prices

Prices for screw pumps vary greatly. Currently, there are several companies producing them on the Polish market. In addition, you can find imported products online. The choice is very large, so the production technology and the use of the pump have the greatest impact on the final price of the product. In our offer you will find every model you are interested in: from general industrial PSRP pump, after industrial single-screw PSRSP pump.

Submersible pump – screw or rotary?

Both the screw pump and the centrifugal pump have many different applications in industry and everyday use. As the name suggests, pumps are used to pump various types of substances from one place to another. They only differ in their mechanism of action, which makes their applications different. The fact is that submersible centrifugal pumps are more often used in households due to their availability. We can distinguish vertical and horizontal centrifugal pumps.

Screw pumps, due to their structure, have a high tolerance for the presence of solids in the pumped liquids. They simply do not get damaged so easily, which makes them last longer. Screw pumps are much more often used in... pumping liquids in the food and chemical industriesand centrifugal pumps in water supply companies or deep wells. The choice of the type of submersible pump depends on how it is used.

Submersible screw pumps

Submersible pumps are mainly used when drawing water and/ or her transport. They are used when the water table is below 8m, and the pump must be completely immersed in water. Deep well screw pumps are often used in home wells to draw water.

A centrifugal pump will not be able to transport such a liquid. Often, well water is contaminated with gravel or sand, which may cause the impeller to seize. Therefore, a submersible screw pump is the best solution in such a case: thanks to its structure, it is able to pump liquid, even if there are large and rounded foreign bodies.

Screw or diaphragm pump

The screw pump and the diaphragm pump differ primarily in their operating mechanism. Diaphragm pumps are driven by compressed air and belong to the group of positive displacement pumps. They enable the transport of food substances (juices, oils, liquid substances) as well as very aggressive chemical liquids.

The diaphragm pump is used in many industries in the same way as a screw pump, but due to its operating principle it has its drawbacks. A diaphragm pump cannot transport liquids with solid particles larger than a dozen or so millimeters. Unfortunately, this will damage the mechanism.

Another disadvantage is the pulsating flow generated by the pump, which cannot be used for specific materials. The screw pump is definitely there more efficient, and thanks to the constant flow it allows transport of substances without interfering with its structure. We will help you choose the right screw pump - you will find our entire product range here.

Screw or monoblock pump

A monoblock pump operates thanks to an engine that is directly connected to the impeller or screw; the mechanism created in this way is called a monoblock. The pump operates both horizontally and vertically, so it can be used for irrigation systems (including pumping cold and hot water).

If we decide to purchase a monoblock submersible pump, we must be aware that it should be placed in a tank in which the water column is minimum one meter. If the water column in our tank does not meet this parameter, we are forced to choose a different type of submersible pump. A screw pump is perfect for this purpose.

Screw pumps for sewage sludge and slurry

Purchasing a screw pump for sewage sludge or slurry is the best solution. It does not interfere with the composition of the pumped liquid, so it works very quickly and efficiently. This type of pump is perfect for both farm and home use.

We can use it not only for slurry, but also for emptying septic tanks or sewage, even if the pumped substance is very thick and contains impurities. Screw pumps for wells fulfill their purpose equally well, providing us with comfort in the household.

Screw pumps for plastering units

Screw pumps, also known as "screw pumps", are an element of equipment used in construction works, they can be found, for example, in plastering units.

As we mentioned earlier, the pump consists of a stator and a rotor, and screw pumps have an additional pin, thanks to which we can improve the operation of the mechanism (we regulate the screw directly). The system is commonly used in devices used for processing gypsum-lime plasters, mortars and other more problematic mixtures.
